FLOOR CURLING
Last year we kicked off Floor Curling at Seba Seniors, and it was a hit! Not only did we have enthusiastic participants, but we also had wonderful support from the Entwistle and Evansburg Senior Clubs. We learned a lot, shared plenty of laughs, and had a great time together.
This year, our very own Wes Potts is taking the lead. Wes has polished up our curling rocks and even made brand-new curling sticks for us to use.
We can’t wait to get sliding and sweeping again—hope to see you there!
WHAT IS FLOOR CURLING?
Floor curling is a modified version of the Olympic sport of curling with one major difference—no ice! Instead of sliding heavy stones, players use lightweight, wheeled stones that glide smoothly across the floor toward a target. The goal? Score more points than your opponent by getting your stones closest to the center.
It’s easy to learn, even if you’ve never played before, and a great way to stay active, socialize, and challenge your strategic skills. Whether you’re aiming for the perfect shot or just there for the laughs, floor curling is all about having a good time with great company. No skates, no sweeping—just pure fun!
