State of the World (previously International Discussion)
Our International Discussion Group has spent the past two years exploring the world around us—how governments work, how democracy can thrive or falter, and how legislation shapes everyday life here in Alberta. Week after week, we shared articles, videos, research, and thoughtful conversation. It was engaging, eye‑opening, and a great way to learn from one another.
State of the World (previously International Discussion)
In 2026, we kept the momentum going with a full calendar of topics, starting with different government systems around the world and moving into country‑specific discussions, including Canada. Each session offered something new to think about and helped us understand global events in a deeper, more connected way.
Now, we’re back for 2027 with a new name and a fresh direction. Our drop‑in group, now called State of the World, starts up again on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 in the Melmoth Lounge.
Come see what we have planned for the year ahead and be part of a welcoming space for curious minds who enjoy learning, reflecting, and talking about the world.
