Job Title: Community Outreach Project Coordinator
Job Purpose:
To support community well-being by identifying available services, developing educational resources, and addressing issues such as isolation, scams, and access to technology. This role also involves collecting and analyzing data to guide service improvement and outreach strategies. It is part of a 3 1/2 year contract in partnership with Westend Seniors Activity Centre.
Key Responsibilities for Seba Seniors:
Identify Community Services
- Research and compile a comprehensive directory of local community services (e.g., health, housing, food assistance, mental health support).
- Build relationships with service providers to maintain up-to-date information.
Identify Personal Services
- Locate and document where individuals can access personal support services (e.g., home care, transport assistance, legal aid).
- Provide information and referrals to individuals in need.
Develop or Research Educational Resources on Scams & Technology
- Create or curate materials that educate the public about online safety, scams, and digital literacy.
- Deliver workshops or information sessions on recognizing scams and safely using technology.
Identify Solutions for Social Isolation
- Assess the needs of isolated or at-risk individuals (e.g., seniors, people with disabilities).
- Develop or connect individuals with programs that promote inclusion and social connection.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Gather data on community needs, service gaps, and program effectiveness.
- Maintain records and prepare reports to support decision-making and funding applications.
Key Responsibilities for WSAC:
Strategic Alignment
- Adopt the shared agenda and Collective Impact Plan (CIP) developed by WSAC.
- Contribute local insights and data to help refine common goals, shared measurements,
evaluation metrics and sustainability strategies.
Coordination & Communication
- Communicate with the WSAC Project Manager regularly with monthly progress
updates, challenges and resource needs. - Participate in regular Alliance coordination calls and in-person or virtual meetings
convened by WSAC. - Maintain open, timely communication with fellow sub-agreement holders, sharing
emerging best practices and lessons learned.
Data & Evaluation
- Collect and submit quantitative and qualitative data according to the CIP’s shared
measurement framework. - Lead local focus groups or surveys, and forward analysis to WSAC for integration into
the Collective Outputs and Outcomes reporting. - Co-develop quarterly and final narrative reports with WSAC, ensuring consistency
across all sub-projects.
Operational Support
- Collaborate on joint awareness campaigns, workshops and the annual Older Bolder
BetterTM Symposium organized by WSAC. - Leverage WSAC-provided templates (work plan, evaluation plan, sustainability plan)
and adapt them to your regional context. - Align your local delivery (outreach, CommuniBee training, fraud-prevention sessions)
with Alliance guidelines, reinforcing a cohesive, multisite service offer.
Continuous Improvement
- Engage in periodic peer-learning sessions facilitated by WSAC to refine service delivery.
- Provide feedback on CIP tools, manuals and processes to enhance effectiveness across
all regions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong research and communication skills
- Knowledge of local services and community engagement practices
- Experience with digital literacy or scam education is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Data collection and basic analysis skills (e.g., using spreadsheets or survey tools)
- Empathy and cultural sensitivity
