Seba Beach Quilting Retreat
The weekend of April 5th, 2024, was a fun filled weekend as 14 quilters retreated to Seba Seniors Center to quilt, uninterrupted for 3 days. Each quilter brought their projects and sewed to their “heart’s content”.
The quilting weekend also included some yummy food as they were pampered by their good friend and honorary quilter, Peggy Ziegler, who cooked some delicious meals for them. Thank you Peggy!
The quilting group is planning another retreat in the fall. Stay tuned!
Did you know Quilting is a fantastic activity for older adults? Here’s why:
- Being Creative: When they quilt, they get to pick out fabrics, patterns, and designs. It feels good to see something they’ve made from scratch.
- Keeping the Brain Busy: Quilting makes them think! It helps with problem-solving, how they see things, and using their hands. It’s like a workout for their brain!
- Meeting People: Lots of older adults join quilting groups or take classes. It’s a chance to chat, make friends, and share their love for quilting with others.”
