Dear Members,
Do you use our Seba Beach Public Library? Did you know Parkland County has cut their funding by more than 75%! This cut could mean charging County residents for library cards (St. Albert charges $75.00 per patron if you’re not a resident), using the library computers and wi-fi, participating in their programs such as sewing club, language learning opportunities, or the summer reading programs that many of our grandchildren enjoy.
You can help by signing pre-written letters available at the library. Another way to help is by going to the library, getting a free library card, and borrowing books. The County measures the libraries value by the number of books borrowed by their residents. Yet, we all know a library is so much more than books.
Currently, Parkland County is refusing to meet or negotiate with the Seba Beach Library Board. So, if you are a Parkland County resident (and not a Village of Seba Beach resident), and use the Seba Beach library, we encourage you to visit the library, sign the letters and make your voices heard.
