A Bridge Game For Charity
Happy New Year to all our Seba Senior members! Let’s hope for health and overall wellness for 2026! The end of 2025 brought forth some amazing stories of generosity from our Seba Seniors groups. Let us tell you about our Bridge group, which meets every Thursday in our Melmoth Lounge at the Seba Seniors Centre.
The Seba Seniors Bridge group met one final time this year to host a Christmas luncheon and have a tournament. In addition to this, they also wanted to do some good for our community, so they added a philanthropic twist to their bridge tournament!
Each member was asked to donate $20.00 and share their favourite charity. Then, they decided the person with the top score that afternoon would win all the money for their charity of choice. Isn’t that wonderful?
Fast forward to the end of the tournament, and it turns out our very own volunteer superstar, and head bartender/manager, Roy, won the pot!! Congratulations Roy!! And his favourite charity…the one who would receive these winnings? That ended up being The Dog Ranch (owned and operated by Leslie Madden by Gainford), which resulted in a fantastic Christmas dinner for all the rescue animals she boards. What a most excellent example of combining fun while giving back to our community! Happy New Year to all!
