FLAG DAY AT SEBA SENIORS
Thank you to all who joined us on Flag Day as we came together to refresh our Canadian flag, sing loud and proud our national anthem, and visit afterwards for some tasty cinnamon apple cake.
Flag Day Speech by our Seba Seniors President, Cathie Duchesne:
We are here in -20 weather because we are joining thousands of Canadians across the country to lend our voice to shout out that we are CANADA – FREE NORTH & STRONG. Even though we are a tiny community we are mighty in our determination to celebrate our country and to state our support for our community, our province, and our country.
We are replacing a tired and faded flag with a new and strong flag to symbolize our new strength to come together with all Canadians. We are ready to reaffirm what our flag represents – uniting Canadians around the principles of democracy, inclusion, and justice that define us in the face of threats that may change our country. We encourage you to go to your homes and raise your own flag in support.
