Potatoes & The SebaHub

Early this month, Ingrid and Tracey, two of our board members, spent an afternoon at the Seba Hub planting potatoes in a couple of community garden plots graciously donated to Seba Seniors by the Seba Hub.

It was an afternoon of fun with dirt and water!  Both Ingrid and Tracey are new to growing potatoes, so let’s wish them luck.  Stay tuned to see how they did and what their plans are for the potatoes! Oh and if you have any tips on growing potatoes such as when to hill them or how to know when to harvest, please email them at info@sebaseniors.ca. They’d love your help.

September 15, 2025 – An Update!

This summer, board members Ingrid & Tracey have been growing potatoes in the Seba Community Garden, generously supported by SebaHub.

Week by week, they have tended to them, learning along the way about the care it takes to grow good food. It’s been such a joy to watch the plants flourish in what must be the most scenic garden around. While they’re not quite ready for harvest, we’re looking forward to the day we can cook and share these potatoes. There’s something truly special about growing food together as a community—it nourishes not just our tables, but our connections with one another.

Stay tuned for more updates on how our plants are doing!
