SUNDOWNER – A NAME CHANGE
As many of you know, our Third Friday social has long been known as the “Sundowner.” It has been a wonderful tradition and a name that holds good memories for many in our group.
Recently, a few members shared that the term “sundowner” has also become associated with dementia-related behaviors, and they wondered whether a small adjustment might be worth considering. After some thoughtful discussion, we feel it’s important to be mindful and inclusive while still honouring the spirit and tradition of our event.
With that in mind, we will be updating the name to: The Sunset Social (formerly Sundowner)
The evening, the friendships, the laughter, and the fun will remain exactly the same — only the name is being refreshed to reflect the caring community we are.
