What a celebration!
The Seba Seniors Annual BBQ and Seniors Week Celebration was an absolute hit — 86 members and guests came together for a day filled with laughter, great food, wonderful entertainment, and the kind of simple, genuine fun that makes our community so special. The weather even decided to cooperate!
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful guests: Rick MacPhee from the Village of Seba Beach Council, Monica Cappis from the WEE Community Foodbank, and Marty and Bennet Hope for keeping us entertained in style.
Of course, events like this don’t happen by magic — they happen because of amazing people who roll up their sleeves and pitch in. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with cooking, set up, posters, bartending, serving, the 50/50, MCing, and cleanup:
  • Diane, Mary & Al, Trish, Tracey & Steve, Kaden, Kendra, Ingrid & Gerald, Sheila, Barb, Doug and Roy — you are the heart of this community! 💛
  • A very special shoutout to Diane Cantrell, our chef extraordinaire, for the incredible meal and the gorgeous cake she baked and decorated. And a big thank you to Judi Meindertsma for her delicious donation of baked beans, and Trina Merkel for the cookies and door prizes. We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and hard work — and our sincerest apologies if we missed anyone!

And the winners are…
  • Mayfield Dinner Theatre tickets — Congratulations to Michelle N!
  • 50/50 Draw — Congratulations to Sharron M.! She and the Seba Beach Museum each took home $140!
  • Door prizes included sunflower plants, cookies, beef jerky, and a gift card to Brickhouse Smokery (a big thank you to them for supplying the smoked pulled pork and cheese smokies — so delicious!)

Want to be part of the magic?

We’d love to grow our Social Committee! If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, here’s what you need to know: you commit to only what you can. That might mean helping at just one event — or even just one part of one event. No pressure, no guilt, just good people working together to create great memories.
We host four main events a year, and there’s something for everyone — food prep, set up, clean up, and plenty of other ways to chip in. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it’s a wonderful way to connect with your neighbours.
Add your name to the list — we would love to have you! Email us at info@sebaseniors.ca
We can’t wait to see everyone at the September 25th Dinner — details coming soon. Until then, enjoy every bit of your summer!
Your Social Director,
Kim
