Supporting The Wee Food Bank
We are doing a food drive for our local food bank – Supporting The Wee Food Bank.
At Seba Seniors, we believe in giving back to the community that gives so much to us. We invite everyone attending our events to bring along a non-perishable item for The Wee Food Bank. Even if you come out to several events, please don’t feel pressured to bring something every time—just when you can. Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference for our neighbours in need. Together, our small acts of kindness add up to a lot of support.
The need in rural Alberta is greater than many realize. Food bank use in Alberta has risen by 73 percent since 2019, which is more than double the national increase. In smaller communities, the impact is especially visible.
DID YOU KNOW…
Across the province, more than 155,000 visits were recorded in a single year, with one in five users being seniors or people with disabilities, and nearly half of all visits coming from families with children. Rising costs of food, housing, and utilities are pushing more working people—sometimes even those with full-time jobs—to turn to food banks for help.
MOST REQUESTED DONATION ITEMS
- Peanut butter
- Canned meat and fish (like tuna or salmon)
- Canned beans, soups, and stews
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Rice and lentils
- Cereal and oatmeal

Thank you for helping us keep the shelves at The Wee Food Bank a little fuller. We will continue this Food Drive until the end of October, and every contribution will go a long way toward supporting our neighbours.
