Who Are We?

Many people in our community think Seba Seniors is an exclusive club for seniors aged 50+, not open to the public. We want to change this impression!  Give me a little time today to explain our role in our community…

Seba Seniors is owned and operated by senior members 50+.   Even though our bylaws state that members in good standing must be 50+, our aim is to be open to the community.  All of our activities (registered classes), Drop-ins, thrift shop, workshops, newsletters, Hot Topics, presentations, resources, and communications are open to the public!

It is important for us to be a vital part of the community.  We believe that we have much to offer and take that role very seriously.  We hope that community members, of all ages, will join us in our efforts as well as take advantage of our offerings.  We welcome anyone interested in participating in our activities and anyone interested in volunteering.  We are 100% run by volunteers so what we offer is limited by the number of people who volunteer.

Seba Seniors is a registered charitable organization.  We have many opportunities for fundraising to contribute to our vision for a strong community.  A strong community will support its seniors and its seniors will gladly support their community!

There is one area where our offerings cannot be open to the public – our social events are offered to members and their guests only. Our liquor licence stipulates that our bar cannot be open to the public and besides, there is only so much room.  Most of our social events are sold out!

We invite community members to visit our center when the thrift shop is open, to sign up to receive its newsletter and to visit sebaseniors.ca to learn more.  There is room for everyone to get involved!
